The WIN-PIHAT-8DO(MOSFET) by Augmatic Technologies is an 8-channel industrial expansion board for Raspberry Pi 4 and CM4. It utilizes High-Side P-Channel MOSFETs to provide reliable solid-state switching for industrial loads, offering superior speed and durability compared to traditional mechanical relays.

  • Built-in Protection: Each channel includes an integrated flyback diode to protect against inductive load spikes.

How It Works

The board uses a BJT-to-MOSFET driver stage to interface with the Raspberry Pi safely:

  1. GPIO HIGH: The Bipolar Transistor (BJT) pulls the MOSFET gate LOW, turning the channel ON and powering the load.

  2. GPIO LOW: The MOSFET turns OFF, cutting power to the load.

This architecture provides level shifting and buffering, protecting the Raspberry Pi’s GPIO pins from high-voltage industrial loads.
